They are an enormous system of waterfalls and are created by the Iguazú river. There is a curious legend which tells that a god wanted to marry a beautiful woman, but she ran away with her lover on the river. So, the god created the waterfalls and turned the woman into a rock.
It is the most important and the highest waterfall of the Iguazú waterfalls. It literally means “devil’s throat”. It also signs the border between Argentine and Brazil.
